“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes....” Romans 1:16

Greetings from Troop TX-1160!

TRAIL LIFE USA is a Christian adventure, character, and leadership program for young men. Our troop number comes from Romans 1:16, "for I am not ashamed". In an age where it seems culture, at large, is passionately pursuing self-destructive ends, it may seem like there are few options that counter this unfortunate path. At TRAIL LIFE USA we commend to you the “Freedom Trail”. The K-12 program centers on outdoor experiences that build a young man’s skills and allow him to grow on a personal level and as a role model and leader for his peers.

The Freedom Trail is a path towards manhood that is Christ-centered, Biblically-based and focused on the overall development of young men into Godly husbands, fathers and citizens.

VISION - Our vision is to be the premier national character development organization for young men which produces Godly and responsible husbands, fathers, and citizens.

MISSION - Our mission is simple and clear: to guide generations of courageous young men to honor God, lead with integrity, serve others, and experience outdoor adventure.

MOTTO - “Walk Worthy” Colossians 1:10 “… that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;”

OATH On my honor, I will do my best To serve God and my country; To respect authority; To be a good steward of creation; And to treat others as I want to be treated.

At TX-1160, we understand that we all fall short, however, we take our doctrinal convictions seriously and vigorously strive to provide the best of adult male leadership and mentorship that we can. We meet on Mondays at 6:30pm at LifeLine Church, located at 2800 Pennsylvania Drive, Denton TX.

Our Troop calendar mirrors closely local school districts calendar running from August to the end of May for regular meetings. Additional activities may be planned during the summer months, especially for Trailmen who move into the more advanced age groups.

Our Troop is broken down into different levels:

  • Woodlands Trail (K-5 th )

  • Navigators (6-8 th )

  • Adventurers (9-12 th )

  • Guidon (College Students).

All of these activities are instructional and aid in a young man’s development for the Freedom Trail. But just as important, they make great friends in a safe environment, develop their leadership skills, serve their community, and build their character. We relish the opportunity to welcome your son into Troop TX-1160 and are intentional in our discipleship of each and every young man placed in our care. On behalf of our Troop Charter Committee, and all of the Troop Leadership team, I invite you and your son to visit with us at a Troop meeting to see first-hand how the Lord is powerfully working in our Troop and how TRAIL LIFE USA steadfastly supports the family’s desire to raise men of Godly character.

Walk Worthy and God Bless!
